Born and raised in San Antonio, TX, Katy has a Bachelors in Economics from Trinity University, and was heading for a career in Urban Development when God re-directed her into ministry. She graduated with a Masters of Divinity degree in 2007 from Princeton Theological Seminary. During her seminary years, God opened doors for some unique ministry experiences that have enabled her to identify her greatest passion in ministry as encompassing international work and a pursuit of social justice for all of God's people. The cumulative effect of these experiences led Katy on a detour following graduation from seminary; one year serving with a medical mission project in the highlands of Guatemala. Upon returning to the country in May 2008, Katy was appointed as an associate pastor at FUMC, Harlingen, where she continues to serve part time. In July 2010 she was appointed as the pastor of  FUMC, San Benito, and the journey goes on...

"God has an amazing way of calling us into the deepest of waters without our floaties. When we faithfully answer those calls, despite our greatest fears, there will be times when we sink like a rock. The blessing comes not when God yanks us to the surface, but when God gives us gills."

Being an artist, Rudy tends to wear many hats wherever he goes and this is true here at FUMC San Benito.  Aside from working in the office he is also the "web guy".  Rudy is surely a child of the Rio Grande Valley...born in Harlingen, raised in Brownsville, graduated from Los Fresnos High School, and currently living in San Benito.  He has four children- Taylor, Sierra, Phoenix and Raeden and is married to Patricia (from Rio Hondo!).  Rudy is currently a student with the University of Phoenix Online finishing his degree in Media Arts & Visual Communications.  During the school year he is the art teacher at Coram Deo Classical Academy in Brownsville.  Throughout the year he is a student and assistant instructor at Bei Shaolin Kung Fu in Harlingen.
